Amid the scorching heat, the parties are generally avoiding large public gatherings, relying more on one-on-one meetings, assemblies of small groups in indoor halls and under shades of trees during morning and evening hours. Though nine candidates are in the fray, the contest is likely to be triangular involving BJD, BJP and Congress nominees whose fates will be decided by 2.2 lakh voters.
