Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has fractured his right hip after a fall at his residence and is receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute.
His press secretary said medical assessments confirmed the injury, and the 100-year-old is expected to remain hospitalised for the next few weeks for treatment and observation.
Tun Dr Mahathir fell at around 7.30am and was admitted to IJN at about 9.30am.
He is in stable condition and conscious, with doctors monitoring him as a precaution.
