The Jet Propulsion Laboratory said the asteroid is set to come within 1,000,000 km of the planet today, but is not expected to pose a risk to Earth on its current trajectory.
According to The Independent, the asteroid is 99% larger than any other near-Earth objects, but will not pass close enough to see without a telescope.
