The FBI executed a search warrant on Trump because he had Top Secret documents related to nuclear weapons in his possession. Trump had received a subpoena back in the spring to hand over the documents but he refused. It is unclear what Trump was intending to do with the documents and if he had shown the documents to anyone. The FBI took around 20 boxes of items. Included in the boxes were 11 sets of classified documents including some that were marked Top Secret and meant to only be viewed in special government facilities. One of these documents included classified information on the “President of France.”
