દર વર્ષે જન્માષ્ટમી શ્રાવણ વદ આઠમે જ હોય અને એટલે જ એને જન્મ અષ્ટમી કહેવાય છે. પણ આ વખતે આઠમ 18 તારીખે રાત્રે 9 વાગીને 21 મિનિટે શરૂ થશે જે 19 તારીખ 10.59 વાગ્યા સુધી રહેશે હવે કારણકે શ્રી કૃષ્ણનો જન્મ મધરાતે થયો હતો અને આઠમ મધરાતે તો 18 તારીખે જ આવશે.
તો જન્માષ્ટમી કયા દિવસે ઉજવવી ?
તો 2 મુદ્દા છે શૈવ મત ધરાવતા લોકો અને મંદિરોમાં કૃષ્ણ જન્માષ્ટમી આજે એટલે કે 18 તારીખે ઉજવવામાં આવશે.
પણ વૈષ્ણવો ઉદિયા તિથિમાં માનતા હોય છે, ઉદિયા તિથી એટલે કે સૂર્યોદય સમયે જે તિથિ હોય તે તિથી ગણવામાં આવે.. હવે આજે એટલે કે 18 તારીખે સૂર્યોદય સમયે સાતમ છે જેથી આવતીકાલે 19 ઓગસ્ટના રોજ અષ્ટમી તિથિમાં જન્માઅષ્ટમી મનાવવામાં આવશે…
