In May 2025, a company called Cloudflare observed approximately 37,400 GB of traffic requests entering their system.
Cloudflare is a company that provides cyber security as a service to businesses worldwide.
37,000 data traffic requests are equal to:
10,000 HD movies being uploaded to the computer at the same time
or taking 1 crore high-resolution pictures in just 45 seconds
By sending such high amounts of data to a computer, hackers attempt to crash a company’s system or slow it down until it becomes non-functional.
This attack was immediately mitigated by Cloudflare’s automated defense system, which suppressed the excessive traffic.
Cyber security companies like Cloudflare continuously monitor and secure businesses around the world.
This kind of cyber attack is called a DDoS attack.
