2022年1月5日，ソニーは，米国・ラスベガスで行われている大規模展示会「CES 2022」で，PlayStation 5用の新型VR HMDの名称が「PlayStation VR2」であることを明らかにした。新作VRタイトル「Horizon Call of the Mountain」も開発中とのことだ。
