Russia said on Sunday that its forces struck Ukrainian military-industrial targets over the past day, while Ukraine on the same day reported attacks on Russian oil drilling platforms in the Caspian Sea.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian forces carried out strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, energy facilities, transport infrastructure, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries across 149 locations over the past 24 hours. The ministry said Russian air defense systems intercepted two guided aerial bombs and shot down 130 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
The ministry also reported that Russian forces took control of the settlement of Belogorye in the Zaporizhzhia region and repelled two Ukrainian attacks in the Kupyansk direction. It added that Ukrainian forces attempted to use a drone to hang a Ukrainian flag on a municipal building in Kupyansk, but the drone and the flag were destroyed.
On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 173 combat engagements had taken place along the front lines over the past day, with Ukrainian forces repelling dozens of Russian attacks in multiple directions. The Ukrainian military also reported strikes on a Russian medium-range air defense missile launcher in the Luhansk region, with information indicating a direct hit and explosion, as well as an attack on a warehouse belonging to Russia’s 49th Combined Arms Army in the Kherson region.
