Pulai member of parliament Suhaizan Kaiat was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Johor Baru last night following a drop in oxygen levels caused by a bacterial infection.
Johor Amanah chairman Aminolhuda Hassan said Suhaizan’s condition is currently stable but requires continuous monitoring.
He said that Suhaizan was admitted to the hospital on Monday due to an intestinal infection and elevated white blood cell count.
On Sept 9, 2023, Suhaizan, who is also Johor Amanah vice-chairman, won the Pulai parliamentary seat with a majority of 18,641 votes in the Pulai by-election.
Suhaizan replaced Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, 61, the previous Pulai MP and AMANAH deputy president, who passed away on July 23, 2023.
