A vigil organised by Choose Love took place outside the UK Parliament in Westminster, where public figures including Steve Coogan, Chris O’Dowd, Nadia Sawalha, and Misan Harriman joined attendees in reading aloud the names of 15,613 Palestinian children killed by Israel. The reading, a solemn act of remembrance and protest, is set to continue for nearly 24 hours.
At the centre of the event was a visual display of the names of 1,700 Palestinian babies aged one year and under, killed in the war which were arranged to form the words “Gaza: Actions Not Words.”
The vigil delivered a direct appeal to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, urging him to end the UK’s complicity in Israel’s actions by immediately suspending arms sales and export licenses, ensuring access for humanitarian aid, and using every available means to help stop the killing.
