India’s Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) witnessed a major crash in gold and silver prices, marking the biggest drop of the year. Gold futures fell sharply by ₹7,696 within minutes of market opening, dropping from ₹1,28,271 to ₹1,20,575. By 5:40 PM, the price had further declined to ₹1,21,198 per 10 grams — nearly 9% down from its peak of ₹1,32,294.
Silver also saw a significant fall, dropping ₹6,508 to ₹1,43,819 per kilogram during the trading session. From its recent high of ₹1,70,415, silver prices have plunged by approximately 16%, a drop of ₹26,596.
