मौसम विभाग (IMD) ने मौसम का अपडेट दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि “उत्तर पश्चिम भारत (North West India) में लगातार लू चल रही है और इसका मुख्य क्षेत्र राजस्थान (Rajasthan) है। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले कुछ दिनों से लगातार रेड अलर्ट दिया जा रहा है जो अगले 3 दिनों तक रहेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि पंजाब और हरियाणा में अगले 3-4 दिनों तक लू चलने की संभावना है,जबकि जम्मू-कश्मीर में पहले से ही लू चल रही है। राजस्थान (Rajasthan) में भी आंधी, बारिश और धूल भरी आंधी (thunderstorms, rain, and duststorms) चलने की संभावना है जो अगले 4-5 दिनों तक जारी रहेगी।
