Ontario has recorded its first fatality from a domestic case of rabies since 1967 following the death of a child in Brantford, Ont. Medical officials say the case stems from contact with a bat in the child’s room in September. The parents did not notice any bites, scratches, or saliva and did not seek a rabies vaccine.
Health officials say if you come in contact with bats, you should seek immediate medical attention.
