Intel’s Next Gen CPUs Are Wild – Nova Lake 385K X3D
Intel may finally be ready to fight back against AMD’s gaming CPU dominance with their rumored Core Ultra 385K, thanks to leaked specs showing up to 52 cores, 144MB of cache, and major performance boosts—1.6x multi-core, 1.1x single-core, and possibly 44% higher gaming performance if they implement their own X3D-style cache. Right now, AMD’s 9950X3D is crushing it with up to 35% better gaming performance over Intel’s current 285K, due to that massive cache mitigating latency bottlenecks. But if these new Intel CPUs really do come with more PCIe lanes, better DDR5 RAM compatibility, and improved low power island efficiency, we could see a true return to form. Based on comparisons with the 9800X3D and estimates from TechPowerUp and TechSpot, this could be the first time in years Intel claims “leadership gaming performance.” And if Intel releases lower-tier variants—say, 12P + 16E core chips—you might get all this power at half the price. I’m excited to see if Nova Lake can finally get Intel back on top by 2026.
