A “miracle” baby girl has become the first child in the UK to be born to a mother using a donated womb.
The baby’s mum, Grace Davidson, was born with a rare condition, Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome, where the womb is missing or underdeveloped.
Grace received her sister’s womb in 2023, and she gave birth to her first child in February two years after the pioneering operation.
The first baby born as a result of a womb transplant was in Sweden in 2014, and since then around 65 babies have been born.
