Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) pressed Emil Bove — a former Trump defense attorney and current DOJ official nominated for a circuit court judgeship — over allegations that he encouraged DOJ lawyers to ignore court orders to advance the president’s agenda.
When asked about whistleblower claims that he told DOJ staffers to say “f— you” to the courts, Bove said he had “no recollection” of making such a statement. He acknowledged, however, that he has encouraged department litigators to “fight hard for valid positions that we have to take in defense of our clients.”
