Apple is considering raising iPhone prices this fall but wants to avoid blaming tariffs.
The company expects tariffs to add about US$900 million in costs this quarter and plans to source most US iPhones from India.
The base iPhone 16, priced at US$799, could climb to US$1,142 due to tariffs, a potential 43 per cent jump.
Analysts have long predicted a price hike but warn it could hurt sales, especially with Samsung pushing ahead on AI.
Apple is looking to pair the price hike with new features and a slimmer design to help make the jump more appealing.
