African Presidential candidate- a Hare Krishna devotee
During the course of his divine presence on this planet, The Founder Acharya of ISKCON, Srila Prabhupada deeply impacted several thousands of people who came into his contact. One of those fortunate persons is Mr George Wajackoyah, a professor and Roots Party Presidential Candidate from Kenya, Africa. He lived a life of abject poverty riddled with struggles. He relates how he was rescued by Hare Krishna devotees when he used to live off the streets at the tender age of ten years. He was provided a place to stay and offered some food. He then started living a regulated life at the temple and finally received initiation by Srila Prabhupada in Nairobi. His initiated name is Krishna Balram Das. He is a pure vegetarian living by the principles of the Bhagavad Gita. With a devotee’s support, he obtained sixteen degrees to his name and knows 11 different languages. Srila Prabhupada continues to remain a shining example of how a devotee transforms the life of every person by becoming an instrument in providing The Lord’s mercy.
